Artoffact Records, in collaboration with Storming the Base and Kinetik Productions present: KINETIK FESTIVAL VOLUME 1, a double-CD compilation showcasing the artists, producers, and DJs performing at the first Kinetik Festival in Montreal, Canada on May 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2008.
Complementing the festival’s four-Phase concept, the Kinetik Festival compilation is divided into four sections. Phase 1 (Elecrto): gives us DJ Mini’s infectious beats, an exclusive cut from electro-clasher Ascii.Disko, and the always in-your-face The Horrorist. Phase 2 (Industrial-Harsh EBM): devoted to industrial and harsh EBM, including contributions from well-known artists such as Funker Vogt, Kiew, and Rabia Sorda as well as exclusive tracks from Headscan, Memmaker, Distorted Memory, and Cenotype. Phase 3 (Industrial-Noise-IDM): more experimental and demanding, the third Phase is an exposé of avant-garde and conceptual music, starting from ground-breaking artists such as Feindflug, This Morn’ Omina, and Sonar, and including newer artists who are bending the rules and making waves in the scene. Includes contributions from Terrorfakt, Empusae, Mono No Aware, Tonikom, and more. There are also exclusive tracks from Xotox, Iszloscope, and Displacer, making this the perfect collector’s item! Phase 4 (Techno-Hardcore): a nod to the influence of techno and hardcore on the electronic music world with contributions from Lenny Dee and Satronica.
Dirk Ivens and Eric Van Wonterghem are two of the most important people in the fabric of Electronic Body Music. Best known as the massively intense 80s band The Klinik they are staging a serious comeback into the scene. The past few years have seen Dirk & Eric take the stage at Europe’s top gothic festivals like WGT and Maschinenfest. Absolute Body Control is a project of pure synth, drum machine and voice. This is a freak escapade with it’s roots deep in the early 80s. Your going to absolutely adore this music! We are seriously pleased to have The Horrorist as part of their new CD single on Daft Records. Available March 21, 2008.

Our friend Adam-X has a new album out on Rustblade Records. Now living full time in Berlin Adam continues his push into the EBM & Industrial scene. The new album was mastered by Eric Van Woterghem (Absolute Body Control, The Klinik).
The long awaited follow up to Adam’s last album “Fate Unknown” has finally arrived. Adam, on his continuing mission to cross the parallels of Techno, EBM, Electro & Industrial, has gone on to create his most conceptual & best produced album to date. The writing and production of this album has taken him two years to create. In the creative process, much of the album has been tested in improvised stages in Adam’s many live performances around the world.
Also be sure to check out Adam’s new YouTube channel which has a new video “Sounds at the Sighting” from the new album and some live and DJ set videos.
